TS18: To the Airport!

Explore bustling commuter lines and vast freight hubs with the Köln Airport Link route extension, out now for Train Simulator!

All-Hour Action

The S13 and S19 lines of the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn maintain a 24/7 service between Cologne Hbf and Cologne Airport, ensuring a consistent link between flights, the historical city, and longer-distance journeys originating at the main station. With the S12 following a similar path, and regional, inter-city traffic thrown into the mix, you will always have action to enjoy while riding the rails outside Cologne, be that from the drivers’ seat or in Railfan Mode.

Freight Relocate

The Köln Airport Link add-on also brings with it the mighty Gremberg Yard, a key location for international freight, both arriving and departing, acting as the freight gateway along the West Rhine. The yard, 3km across, is located along the Cologne Freight Bypass Railway, which keeps traffic away from main station and the at-limit Hohenzollern Bridge.

Magnificent Marshall

Within Gremberg, and at other notable locations such as Cologne Eifeltor, assemble strings of freight ready for onward journeys and perform re-positioning moves between these bustling yards. Enticing challenges await as you learn your way around the local area, crossing the Cologne South Bridge en route.

A Blend of Traction

There’s lots to get to grips with while traversing the scenic landscape of North Rhine-Westphalia; the DB BR 423, DB BR 155, DB BR 294, DB BR 146.0 and 146.2, and as a bonus, the DB BR 406 ‘ICE 3’. Each offer a different and engaging experience across the Köln Airport Link route extension, and keep you on your toes as you anticipate which will be the next to round the curve ahead of you.

Yours to Explore

With a series of Career scenarios, covering a multitude of duties, Railfan mode scenarios, quick drive compatibility and traction aplenty, the Köln Airport Link route extension has a lot to give, and it is available now for Train Simulator!

A New Way to Expand

We’ve changed the way extended routes work. The original route, West Rhine: Köln – Koblenz, is required for you to enjoy the additional content in this Köln Airport Link route extension, and for those of you who don’t own either route, a handy twin pack deal awaits!
