Hi there Anglers, We are back with our second update of the year and along with lots of improvements and fixes. We are also happy to say that this update also includes the addition of beards and, the option to change the colour of both your hair and your beard! We can’t wait to see some strong looks out there on the water. Let's get into it! Headlines * Mastery – We are trialing a possible fix for Mastery Challenges not tracking or completing. We recommend all players to log out of Dovetail Live via the settings menu, re-launch the game and log back in. if you continue to experience any issues with Mastery, please let us know HERE [http://dovetailgames.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/new]. * Fish – When fishing in areas where the water is 60+ feet deep fish are now able to see lures from a greater distance and will now more actively pursue lures that are within their line of sight. * Fish - We have improved the fish behavior to prevent very large groups of fish from congregating at specific POI’s, you will still likely find fish at these POI’s but fish will now be more active throughout the session and will move around venues. * BEARDS – A selection of beards are now available for players to use in game * Hair – You are now able to change the colour of your angler’s hair and beard * Audio – Improvements to audio when fish leap or break the surface of the water during fish fights * Menu – An issue causing the game to crash when navigating to the boat selection screen has now been resolved * Dovetail Live – An issue causing some players to be unable to log into Dovetail Live has been resolved * Loadouts – An issue preventing players from being able to make changes/create new loadouts while fishing on a venue has been resolved * Lures – An issue that was causing Top Water lures to not be able to catch fish has been resolved * UI – An issue that was causing players to have a loss of their UI after catching a fish has been resolved * Language – Japanese language is now supported, to access change your consoles language to Japanese Note: After releasing this update, we have discovered an issue affecting Bassmaster Royale, so we have disabled the servers whilst we investigate. It is likely that we will be putting through a hotfix to resolve this issue and we will let you know via our social channels, and updated here, when we have information to share. General * Loadouts – Added the ability to purchase more than 1 of a lure at once * Multiplayer – Resolved an issue where some players were experiencing crashes when in when the inactive timer ends and the player’s controller is disconnected or has run out of battery. This issue has been primarily affecting Play Station 5 * Multiplayer – Added additional spawn points on Online Public servers to prevent players from spawning on top of each other * Bassmaster Royale – Resolved an issue where If a player is culled from the game at the exact moment that player has caught a qualifying species of fish their score is incorrectly counted and is able to win the game despite being culled * Character – Resolved an issue that was causing the game to crash whe scrolling through customisation options * Character – Resolved an issue that was causing lens colour on sunglasses to revert to default when restarting the game * Character – Improved the animation of characters when in the character creation screen * Character – Resolved an issue causing the camera to zoom into the player’s feet when customizing a character * Character – Improvements have been made to the textures on clothing when creating a character * Character – An issue causing sunglasses to have no textures when in the character customization has been resolved * Tutorial – Resolved an issue causing players to be unable to “skip” when in the inventory screen * Gameplay – Resolved an issue that was causing the incorrect time to display when loading into a single-player fishing trip. * Gameplay – Improvements have been made to night-time lighting and reflections caused by moonlight * Gameplay – Removed a misplaced asset from Lake Hamilton * Gameplay – Improvements made to prevent some foliage from appearing warped on Sabine River * Gameplay – Foliage no longer appears above the surface of the water, and this has also resolved the issue of foliage rendering in and out * Gameplay – Scott Martin no longer appears twice on the St Lawrence River, College Series Pro Challenge * Gameplay – Resolved an issue causing the Rat L Trap to float in mid-air before casting * Gameplay – We have amended the speed at which the AI names scroll during career events and this has prevented the name from appearing blurry * Menu - When the player navigates to Player Stats in the menu the character is now facing the correct way * UI – Resolved an issue on Xbox consoles where when playing Bassmaster Fishing 2022 the activity monitor says at the home menu * UI – When loading the game “Deluxe Edition” owners now have their own screen in Deluxe Edition colours * UI – Added a screen that pops up for new owners of the Deluxe Edition detailing the additional content they have received * Localisation – Various improvements made to translations There are also various other fixes and changes behind the scenes not listed above. Between the dates of March 4 - 6 the real world 2022 Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic® presented by Huk will be held at the iconic, Lake Hartwell. What does that mean for Bassmaster® Fishing 2022, I hear you ask? But let’s talk about the 2022 Online Bassmaster Classic. Here are the key nuggets of information, you can keep reading below for a more detailed breakdown. What is 2022 Online Bassmaster Classic? Starting Feb 24, we are kicking off our inaugural 2022 Online Bassmaster Classic. Players across all platforms will be competing against each other in a 3-round tournament to see who will be crowned the 2022 Online Bassmaster Classic Champion. The competition follows official Bassmaster rules, meaning the combined weight of your top 5 weight bass (Largemouth and Spotted) will be added to the leader board. Round 1 will start at 00:00 PST/08:00 UTC on February 24 and run till March 1. Round 2 will kick off at 00:00 PST/08:00 UTC on March 2 to March 5 with the final round lining up with the real-world final of March 6, like the other rounds it will start at 00:00 PST/08:00 UTC and will end March 7 00:00 PST/08:00 UTC. If you own the Lake Hartwell DLC you will have 3 attempts per round to post the highest total weight you can. If you do not own the DLC you will have 1 attempt per round, but if you complete your attempt and decide you want to try again, purchasing the DLC will enable you to complete your additional 2 attempts. Each attempt is 60 minutes out on the water, you do not need to return to the starting dock, your attempt will end when the timer hits 0:00. If you need to/want to you can suspend your attempt and return to it later via the pause menu. Just make sure you complete your attempts before the round ends. The winner will be the player who has the highest total weight over the 3 rounds. To compete in the event from the main menu click on Bassmaster Online. BEARDS If you’ve ever seen one of our live streams, you’ll know we have a whole host of bearded members of the team (and those that are follically-challenged, who certainly wish they could grow them), and as such, we understand the importance of being able to rep a strong beard on your character. We are pleased to announce, that we are very close to having them available in the game! Alongside the addition of beards to Bassmaster Fishing 2022, we are also implementing additional tools to enable you to change your hair and beard colours giving you greater control over how your player looks. Here are a few sneaky previews of some of the mighty fine beards you’ll be able to rep soon. Game Updates On January 19th, we rolled out our first update of 2022 - which included various improvements and fixes including: * Menu – We have implemented a change that we are hopeful has resolved an issues causing crashes when selecting “Manage” from the main menu. * Venues – Catch rates have been balanced and we will continue to monitor catch rates across all our venues * Multiplayer – When a player leaves an online public server, they will be presented with a catch summary * Angler Hub – Improvements and fixes made to the Progression screen within Player Profile. * Gameplay – Improvements made to catch shots This update was primarily focused on improving the overall stability of the game and that, alongside bug fixes and enhancing the overall experience will be an ongoing effort throughout the year. We are already well on our way towards the next update, and we want to take the opportunity to reiterate that we are listening to you, the players and we are working on resolving issues you have been making us aware of. The more information you can provide the more details we can pass on to the team that will be investigating the issue. Game Improvements We are also working on several of the improvements you have been suggesting. We would add that the timeframes on a project like for example, animating lures are currently unknown. It is a highly technical physics-based system that needs to be designed, tested, tweaked, and tested again. There are several plans for improvements to the core game that right now we can’t go into the details of (or provide timeframes on), but rest assured throughout 2022, Bassmaster Fishing 2022 will see a host of new, (and, importantly) free updates like beards and seasonal events plus additional content such as equipment packs and venues. When we have more information about any of these improvements, we’ll let you know. The Future This brings us neatly onto the future and what is in store for Bassmaster Fishing 2022. Now, naturally, we don’t want to ruin any surprises, but what we can say about one of the exciting things coming up is that the real-world Bassmaster Classic is coming up fast. It takes place over the weekend of 4th-6th of March – and, as a little hint, we’d recommend keeping your diaries clear - cancel your “washing your hair” plans, take the phone off the hook, and get prepared - because the competition is about to get real! Working with our platform partners and you, the community to identify where players have been experiencing crashes, we are starting 2022 with a stability update focused on addressing and improving the experience for players, and adding Chickamauga Lake to the Online Public Servers and Bassmaster Royale. Headlines * Menu – We have implemented a change that we are hopeful has resolved an issues causing crashes when selecting “Manage” from the main menu. If you are still experiencing this issue please do let us know. * Venues – Catch rates have been balanced and we will continue to monitor catch rates across all our venues * Audio – Crankbait, Jointed, Spinner, Buzz and Popper baits now make sounds as intended * Multiplayer – Players will no longer incorrectly be eliminated from Bassmaster Royale games. * Multiplayer [PS5] – Resolved an issue causing some players to not see any online multiplayer servers * Multiplayer [XSX] – An issue causing the game to get stuck on the loading screen while joining a multiplayer session has been resolved * Customisation – Santa’s beard is now removable! Ho Ho Ho Anglers, Bassmaster Fishing 2022 was released worldwide on October 28th and you, the community have been playing, finding, catching and becoming Bassmaster Classic champions all over the world. As we get to this time of year, we thought now would be a good time to look back at what’s happened so far and, like the ghost of Christmas Future, glimpse at what the plans are for the future! The Story Since Launch Since the launch on October 28th, the team have been working flat-out on improvements, whilst also working on our future plans for Bassmaster Fishing 2022 (which we’ll get to later). Whilst it’s been a busy few months, one thing has been constant: you, our community, have been fantastic. As well as making us aware of niggles you’ve experienced, you’ve also provided some great suggestions for the game, and have shared your tips and tricks with fellow players. Bassmaster Fishing 2022 is an ambitious project. It's been great to get all the feedback and suggestions from you, the players, to make sure we continue to create an authentic experience. Since launch we have released 4 updates, addressing as many of these issues and improvements as possible. This will continue into the new year, and beyond. We wanted to get one more update before Christmas to focus on one of the most reported issues, sponsorship discounts, which we can confirm are now fixed. There is also a special festive surprise that we’ll have more news on soon, and, like Santa’s sack of goodies, we’ve also crammed as many server improvements into the online modes as we can before the end of the year! We are already working on Update 5 and that will be coming through in the new year. We also want to make players aware that several of the key issues that have been reported by the community are being proactively worked on, this includes Mastery Challenges not completing, the game crashing during multi-day career events and fish behaviour. Hey there Anglers. To kick things off, Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you enjoy yourselves, eat lots of awesome food, and spend time with your loved ones. Today we will be adding Toledo Bend to Bassmaster Online, where you’ll be able to hop into a server solo or with your friends to track down and land some basszillas! Lake Hamilton isn’t going anywhere though, and you’ll see when you head to the server list you can pick which of the two venues you’d like to fish. We’ll be adding it to Bassmaster Royale at a later date. A Trip Down Toledo Bend Toledo Bend is a reservoir on the Sabine River straddling Texas and Louisiana, Toledo Bend is the largest man-made body of water in Southern USA. Bassmaster® Fishing 2022’s section of Toledo Bend will be mostly in the Louisiana portion. The starting dock is next to the famous Cypress Bend Park, from which you'll be able to see the stunning scenery that emulate real-life points of interest across the park. As you explore the rest of Toledo Bend, you'll uncover boat houses around the bank sides and foliage that is accurate to the area. Shorelines will be covered in tall Pines, Oak trees and more, and under the water, the foliage is just as diverse as the shoreline. Your Favourite Venue We would love to know which of the 8 real-world venues in Bassmaster Fishing 2022 is your favourite to fish on. Bassmaster Fishing 2022 will continue to receive updates for quite some time to come. Our initial aim will be to make overall improvements and fixes based on your comments before moving on to adding more to the game. We will act on issues as quickly as possible once we have confirmed and reproduced the reports you have sent. This can feel like a slow process, but updates will be rolling out soon with smaller changes to begin with. You can expect more significant upgrades later. It’s worth noting that at this early stage we’re focusing primarily on fixing issues, rather than adjusting gameplay balance. These will come through a little further down the line. Update #1 The first of these patches is currently in testing, and covers gameplay issues that have been flagged as critical. This is a small update, but we wanted to ensure these problems were resolved as quickly as possible. We’ve already solved some server issues for all players, although we have a lot more to do to improve the multiplayer experience. Here are some of the fixes included – this is not the full list, but perhaps gives a sense of the size of updates. These are: * Fixed an issue in the tutorial preventing progress * Fixed an issue in which players cannot toggle back to underwater camera after snagging (PC/Xbox) * Fixed an issue whereby fish were swimming out of bounds in Lake Hamilton * Initial upgrades to graphic, UI, and menu Update #2 The full package of changes for Update 2 will be finalized ahead of its release. You can expect this patch to continue to focus on areas that players have fed back. These are the areas we are already addressing. These are: * Increasing online server accessibility and stability for all players * Trolling motor not functioning properly * Career mode games not completing properly (as a quick workaround, stop your boat, stand up, and the game should finish) * Making Cotton Cordell Pencil Popper lure function as intended * Tutorial and parts of tutorial able to be skipped * Improvements to lobby screen while waiting for Bassmaster Royale games There are additional areas we’ll be focusing on and investigating. Updates falling into these categories will be addressed but may wait for a later update.
