Amtrak's Acela®

Blasting onto Train Sim World 3 is Amtrak's Acela®, held in high regard by both the American Railfan community and commuters alike. Amtrak’s Flagship High-speed unit offers Train Sim World 3 players the freedom to power up America's fastest train from the comfort of their own living room and explore the Northeast corridor at speeds previously unimaginable. With its sleek streamlined design, the futuristic Acela® has been serving commuters on the North-East Coast of the United States for over 20 years. Sections of the line allow it to reach speeds of up to 150mph, which have dramatically reduced the overall journey time of its counterparts., combine this with its luxurious Business Class and First Class accommodations, and café car that is available for all passengers to enjoy, and it's no wonder it can effectively compete with internal flights of a similar nature, carrying thousands of passengers every day.
A total of 20 Acela® trainsets were built in the early 00s, featuring a design reminiscent of the famous TGV. It is clear that its heavily derived design was inspired by the European High-speed trains that Amtrak tested throughout its network in the late ’90s, coupled with Amtrak's striking Phase V grey and blue livery it looks like a bullet as it races to its destinations across the Northeast Corridor.
