Fishing Sim World: Bass Cat Boats in Focus
When you start out in Fishing Sim World: Pro Tour you will be looking at your list of boats working out what you want to unlock next. Chances are, your target will be a Bass Cat Boat. This article will look at them in focus and explain how from humble beginnings, they are now one of the most popular performance bass boat manufacturers in the world. History Ron Pierce, the founder of Bass Cat Boats, started off with a successful career in the plastics engineering industry before purchasing a drive-in restaurant with his wife, Jan, but his passion was always bass fishing. Bass Cat Boats was formed in 1971 in Ron and Jan’s two car garage. From there it moved to a small military style Quonset hut, which was quickly outgrown. The final move was in 1972 to the present location where the factory stands strong today. Ron’s son, Rick Pierce started at Bass Cat when he was 13-years old with a passion for bass fishing and building boats. Rick quickly earned a reputation for designing fast boats with incredible fiberglass finishes. Recent Times Bass Cat Boats has continued to grow from their strengths to become one of the last leading independent boat manufacturers in the Bass fishing industry. They lead the way in innovation with being the first to introduce wide body hulls to accommodate larger engines, as well as the 6X custom Italian steering wheel, recessed trolling pedals, and custom grab-post trailers. Today’s Bass Cat Boats, led by Rick Pierce, employ 148 staffers and offer 11 different models of boats across three different levels with the Lynx and Jaguar models being their premier offerings. Bass Cat has won multiple awards over the years, including 5 J.D. Power Customer Service awards for quality, service and performance. The Future and FEEL THE RUSH! The future looks bright with innovation being at the heart of Bass Cat Boats, you can be sure to find more Pierce-inspired features being incorporated into future boat models to keep them at the cutting edge of the industry! New technology and the rapid growth of competitive fishing at the high school and college levels have re-energized the industry. Young anglers now have more knowledge and better angling tools than ever before, and Bass Cat Boats is excited to be a part of this new wave and lead the way in performance bass boat design. FEEL THE RUSH is all about the experience. Roll casting a spinnerbait and not hitting the trolling motor head, clearing the deck as you pitch with ease. It extends to the bear and sound of the hull; the rush we all get as we tap the trim and let the air hang. It’s the sound of a “Cat” imagined as it comes around a bend. You hear it, but you can’t see it yet. A lasting memory from the first time you HEAR IT, SEE IT and FEEL IT! We are delighted that the Pantera Classic and Lynx will be featured in Fishing Sim World and look forward to you experiencing the thrill of driving such stunning boats in game as people do on lakes across the world daily! We will look to add further Bass Cat Boat products in the future but make sure you head over to their social media to keep up to date on all the latest news and product releases: Website [https://www.basscat.com/] Facebook [https://www.facebook.com/BassCatBoats/] Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/basscatboats/] YouTube [https://www.youtube.com/user/BassCatTV] [https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/bass-cat-boats-in-focus.12451/]

How to send in #yourprotour shots
Since we started posting your catch shots in our #yourprotour posts we've been receiving some fantastic shots from the community! We've also received some questions on how to submit your screenshots so we thought we'd put together a handy guide on how to get them from your game to us on our social channels. Bonus points for puns in the captions of your submitted screenshots and screenshots with or without the HUD on are welcome. Xbox One There are two main ways to send us your screenshots from Xbox to our social media. They are as follows: Option 1 Option 1 is to upload the screenshots directly to Twitter, it's super easy, just make sure you have your Xbox account to your Twitter account in your console settings under the account tab. When you have your catch shot you want to send to us, press the Xbox button and press Y to save your screenshot. When you get the pop up telling you that the screenshot was successfully saved, hold the Xbox button and go down to the share to Twitter option. You will then have a box where you can add a caption for the shot, make sure to tag us @DovetailFishing and add #yourprotour to the post and then share away. Option 2 Following the steps from option one you can choose to instead upload your screenshot to OneDrive under the 'See all sharing options' menu. Upload it to your OneDrive account and you will access it from pc or mobile and upload it to Facebook or Instagram. Again remember to tag us on the post and include the #yourprotour tag. PlayStation 4 On PlayStation there is also a couple of ways in which you can send us your screenshots. Option 1 The easiest and most straightfoward option is to share them directly to Twitter. When you've caught a fish you want to share with us, hit the share button on your controller and then select upload screenshot. When you're asked where to send it to, select Twitter and you will be taken through to edit your post. In the comment add your caption for the post, make sure to tag us @DovetailFishing and include the #yourprotour hashtag. Option 2 If you're not a fan of Twitter or don't have an account you can transfer saved screenshots from your console on to a USB storage device and then copy them from there on to a PC If you're playing on Steam you can make use of the built-in screenshot functionality to take a screenshot and upload this from your computer to Facebook or Twitter. When you're in game and have just caught a fish that you want to send us press your screenshot button. This is F12 by default in Steam unless you have changed it. Go in to your Steam library and scroll down to where it says screenshots on the right hand side. Click on Manage My Screenshots and from the window that appears select 'Show on Disk'. This will take you through to the folder in which your screenshots are stored. This is where you will need to upload from when sending your screenshots to us on Facebook and Twitter.

What is Lake Williams?
Located in California and surrounded by a stunning backdrop of dry arid land and forest-covered steep hills, Lake Williams not only offers fantastic fishing but also provides a perfect environment to do it in. There are ten different species of fish to target and the lake has features all across the 2000 acres meaning that a variety of tactics, presentations and techniques are needed depending on the conditions you are facing. Two clusters of rocky islands at either end of the lake are great holding spots for the bass but the changes in depth and features they provide in open water shouldn’t be ignored as you hunt down the trophy sized fish. Lake Williams features a new species for Fishing Sim World, the spotted bass. Looking remarkably similar to the largemouth but with its first and second dorsal fin connected, the spotted can be found in much deeper water than smallmouth if you are trying to single them out. The ten species found in Lake Williams are largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass, bluegill, yellow perch, channel catfish, brown trout, rainbow trout, black crappie and white crappie and comes with five different achievements to unlock. Lake Williams is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC for £8.99 / $10.99 / €10.99 Xbox One [https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/p/fishing-sim-world-lake-williams/bpjg50ntvspm?activetab=pivot:overviewtab] PlayStation Europe [https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/EP2866-CUSA12376_00-CALIFORNIALAKE00] PlayStation US [https://store.playstation.com/en-us/product/UP3004-CUSA12494_00-CALIFORNIALAKE00] Steam [https://store.steampowered.com/app/916220/Fishing_Sim_World_Lake_Williams/] Dovetail Store [https://store.dovetailgames.com/ref/916220]

Fishing Terms Explained
This article will explain some of the terms and concepts used in Fishing Sim World. We will continue adding to it in future, just let us know what you would like us to explain. What is a bite alarm? Alarms are a form of bite indication. If a fish takes your bait and starts to swim away with it, the line the will start to move. Any movement or vibration of the line is recognised by sensors making the alarm sound which tells you you have a bite. Watch a video tutorial at youtu.be/7Tnla4xFRO0 What are bed types? The bed type is the surface that your bait is landing on at the bottom of the lake. There are three main bed types which are featured in game, these are gravel, silt and weed. Watch a video tutorial at youtu.be/ypjJR3xKxDM What is carp fishing? The carp is a freshwater species belonging to the cyprinidae family. Carp can be found in lakes and rivers across Europe and can grow to over 100lbs (45kgs). Carp are renowned for fighting hard. Popular baits to target them include boilies, pop-ups, sweetcorn and tiger nuts. Watch a video tutorial at youtu.be/ECSKna2BYy4 What is casting? There are two main styles of casting. The most common is casting overarm which is suitable for any distance over 20 yards. For close fishing, an underarm cast is used. The further you want to cast, then the more powerful rod you will need. The power of the rod is measured by its test curve. Watch a video tutorial at youtu.be/pkRjMPUGKOk What other equipment can I see in my swim? General Equipment in carp / coarse fishing can include an unhooking mat for the fish to be placed on whilst out of the water, to protect it from the ground and in match fishing, a keep net which sits in the water next to you where you put all of the fish in to get a total weight at the end. Watch a video tutorial at youtu.be/BJkJHoinW04 What are match fishing rules? A competitive form of coarse fishing which involves people drawing out a random peg (a place to fish), and then trying to catch as many fish as possible within the allotted time. Usually the winner will be the one with the greatest weight of fish caught. Watch a video tutorial at youtu.be/KEM79dbGE8Q What are multiple rods? To increase your chances of catching it is possible to fish with more than one rod if you are fishing from a static peg and not stalking. In the game you will be able to use up to three rods during your session. Watch a video tutorial at youtu.be/cyzEt8D2W4M What is netting a fish? Once you have hooked into a fish and brought it close to the bank you will need to net it. The best time to do this is when the fish is tired and has stopped fighting, often rolling onto its side. If you try to net a fish too early it will try to escape, so be patient. Watch a video tutorial at youtu.be/YKn4SOHNa4g What is a peg? A peg is a pre-defined area on the bank to fish from. There will be pegs spread out around the lake and whatever peg you are in, dictates what part of the lake you can fish. You must not cast into an area of water controlled by another peg that is occupied by an angler. Watch a video tutorial at youtu.be/nr-3zE8CB7U What is a rig? A rig is the length of line tied from your main line down to the hook. There are many different types of rigs designed to present your chosen bait in all different ways, whether it be on the bottom of the lakebed or all the way up to the surface, you can find the right one for any conditions. Watch a video tutorial at youtu.be/xxJSLU5mUZo What is spodding? Spodding is getting a lot of bait out into an area quickly and accurately to keep fish feeding. A spod is a rocket type tube that you fill with bait and when cast out, will deposit all of the bait out of the open end. A spod rod will not catch a fish as you do not cast out a bait and hook. Watch a video tutorial at youtu.be/LM9ncYqp4j4 What is stalking? Stalking is one of the most exciting ways of fishing. It involves finding fish close to the margin of the lake and trying to catch them with an underarm cast. You need to be quiet and stealthy so as not to spook them. Stalking often takes place in quiet areas of the lake away from traditional pegs. Watch a video tutorial at youtu.be/u_w6VGC9jbI What is time of day and weather? Time of day and weather conditions have a massive impact on fish behaviour. Hot and sunny conditions will see fish move to the upper layers of the water but cold and dark conditions tend to push the fish to the bottom of the lake. Watch a video tutorial at youtu.be/xto0upPACC8 What is watercraft? Watercraft is an anglers ability to work out the location of the fish. A fish may give away its location by splashing, swimming just below the surface or sending bubbles up to the surface through feeding. Other things to consider are weather conditions, wind direction and the time of day. Watch a video tutorial at youtu.be/1er_hJXq7Gc What are baits? The bait is what you attach to your hook to entice and catch the fish. Bait possibilities are endless but popular baits include boilies, pellets, sweetcorn and bread.
